Chicken Adobo is an authentic Filipino dish and is one of the mostly recognized Filipino foods. This Chicken Adobo Recipe is the simplest that you can get.
- 2 lbs chicken, cut into serving pieces
- 3 pcs dried bay leaves
- 1 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup vinegar
- 4 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 medium white onion
- 1 to 2 cups water
- 1/4 cup cooking oil
- 1/2 tablespoon white sugar or raw
- pepper to taste
Cooking Procedure
- In a large container, combine the chicken, soy sauce, vinegar and garlic and water then boil for 20 minutes until chicken is tender. Set aside sprinkle with pepper
- Place the cooking oil in a pan and apply heat
- When the oil is hot enough, pan fry the chicken. Cook all the sides for about 5 minutes. After that on same pan saute garlic and onion for 1 minute.
- Pour-in the remaining marinade. Bring to a boil
- Add pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes
- Put-in the sugar. When it's thicken add dried bay leaves. Stir for 2 minutes and turn the heat off.
- You can add fried potatoes on top. Serve hot. Share and Enjoy!
