Chicken Adobo


Chicken Adobo is an authentic Filipino dish and is one of the mostly recognized Filipino foods. This Chicken Adobo Recipe is the simplest that you can get. 

Ingredients
  • 2 lbs chicken, cut into serving pieces
  • 3 pcs dried bay leaves
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 4 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 medium white onion
  • 1 to 2 cups water
  • 1/4 cup cooking oil
  • 1/2 tablespoon white sugar or raw
  • pepper to taste

Cooking Procedure

  1. In a large container, combine the chicken, soy sauce, vinegar and garlic  and water then boil for 20 minutes until chicken is tender. Set aside sprinkle with pepper
  2. Place the cooking oil in a pan and apply heat
  3. When the oil is hot enough, pan fry the chicken. Cook all the sides for about 5 minutes. After that on same pan saute garlic and onion for 1 minute.
  4. Pour-in the remaining marinade. Bring to a boil
  5. Add pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes
  6. Put-in the sugar.  When it's thicken add dried bay leaves. Stir for 2 minutes and turn the heat off.
  7. You can add fried potatoes on top. Serve hot. Share and Enjoy!
